The forth edition of Observatoire du bois is revealing the optimistic numbers concerning the wood industry, despite the difficult economic circumstances. The wood industry is a field, which is taking it very good. This is the conclusion of Observatoire du bois 2011-2012 through a poll organized in September 2011, among 7000 representative companies for wood industry. 541 companies had given an answer to this research that allowed highlighting the most important concerns related to this industry. The French companies show a better resistance compared to the rest of Europe. The main reason is that they continue to invest.
The investment represents a benefit of productivity (78%) and flexibility (65%) for the professionals. Besides, 73% are estimating that the investment is responding to searching new national markets.
The economic circumstances of wood industry are being seen as favorable for 60% of interviewed companies. In regard to the stakes that concern the climate change, 40% are convinced that the wood industry is in the middle of it. The professionals consider that the wood and its properties are not totally recognized and they estimate the their efforts must be related to explain and emphasize all their benefits.
