The parks Lyon – Albigny and Lyon – Sainte-Foy are proposing the visitors a thematic exhibition - Forests from Here and Somewhere Else, between 10th of July and 31st of August.
The exhibition has the purpose to allow visitors traveling through forests from all over the world guided from beautiful pictures, which represent the plurality of forests and, in the same time and make them aware in regard to the stakes of the forests. Three themes will be approached on this occasion: “forest and its stakes”, “forest and its dangers” and “forest, lung of our planet”.
The economical stakes are so important: the forestry, the energy, the furniture and the construction are all related to wood and forest industry. The social stakes are also important: the forests represent a place to relax. Moreover, the forests are playing an essential part in maintaining the ecosystems` balance: biodiversity and the production of drinking water. More than a quarter of metropolitan French territory is covered by forests, which complete the landscape.
