The Russian government extended to 2011 the decreasing process of export duties on raw wood from Russia.
The export tax on wood products with various diameters is fixed at a value of 25% of customs value, but not less than 15 euros / cbm. The export tax on raw wood of poplar, eucalyptus and aspen is set at a level of 10% of customs value, but not less than 5 euros / cbm.
According to Russian government decree from December 29th, 2009 it was assumed that, starting on 1 of January 2011 the customs duties for any type of raw wood will constitute 80%, but not less than 50 euros per cubic meter of wood.
