The latest press release issued by EGGER states that the company has started the procedure for obtaining autorisation for building an OSB production line.
Thus, the Egger Group will invest 150 million euro in a new OSB production line for their factory in Radauti. The new unit, with an annual capacity of over 300. 000m³, will create aproximately one hundred new direct work places and nine hundred indirect ones.
The new investment is part of Egger’s plans to turn the Radauti plant into a fully integrated production unit. « We are pleased to continue the development of the factory during these tough economical times. The OSB unit will create hundred of new work places, which will contribute to developing Radauti’s work force«, stated Ioan Banciu, Tehnical Director.
After obtaining the permits, construction will be completed in about a year. Egger feels that during these tough times this new invertment will contribute to the region’s economical development; positive effects will be felt in constructions, transportation, as well as in the contruction material supply sector; the region’s export activities will also develop.
The Egger Company has currently invested 210 million euro in a wood processing factory, with a production capacity of 600 000m³ of PAL/year. Egger’s turnover recorded last year was over 90 million euro. The Radauti plant recorded a profit of aproximately 4.1 million euro.
Egger Romania is part of the EGGER Group, which recorded a turnover of 1.48 billion euro during 2009-2010. The Egger group employees 5. 800 people.
