According to Deputy Director of the Forestry State Committee of Ukraine, Valeriy Lozitskiy, in the first quarter of 2009 Ukraine has sold 77% timber, similarly with 2008 year. 21% of prefabricated raw material was exported. Thus, in 2009 were sold 2.16 million cubic meters of timber, and in 2008 - 3.33 million cubic meters.
"The main objective of state policy in the field of wood industry is the afforestation by 20% on the Ukraine territory. The afforestation of Lvov region should reach 30% of value, but now this value reached 28.2% - 2 million ha forest. By 2015, we still have to plant 560 thousand hectares of forest, until 2040 - 2 million ha. The state budget allocated exclusively for the development of the forestry sector in Ukraine was established to 90 million Grivni ", said Valeriy Lozitskiy.
After the words, in the shortest time in Ukraine is planned to build two specialized bases in seed growth and multiplication in Herson and Bolinsk regions. V. Lozitskiy also called the work of such a base, located in the Lvov region, ineffective.
