ONU has adopted a new procedure in order to prevent global warming: rewarding land owners who don't cut down the forests. This initiative requires both financial support from investors as well as efforts to protect the forest from natural disasters such as storms, fires, landslides, insects.
The whole action will be debated and analized during a meeting which is to take place in Poznan, Poland, between the 1-12 December. Officials from over 190 countries are expected and it is estimated that the value of the rewards will reach millions of dollars.
It is a well-known fact that afforestation is one of the main cause of global warming, but it is also important to prevent various natural disasters which cannot be controled by people. Under these circumstances, the ensuring trees is a procedure that should take place without impediments, under normal conditions, just like ensuring a house, for example. The most difficult part is evaluating risks, especially those caused by events, actions not related to human factors.
