The Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests of the Ivory Coast and ITTO will organise an important event, between the 22-25 of September 2008.
The workshop is aimed on „Creating sustainable resources through inovations in the wood industry for the 21 century”.
The workshop will feature subjects like:
I. an overview on inovations in global tropical forest industry
II. current situation of the tropical forests subsector in countries, members of ITTO
III. inovations in the valorification of tropical wood wastes
IV. inovations for Non Timber products
V. tropical wood attractivity in current globalization
VI. technological inovations in local communities based on tropical wood industry
VII. the part of information and communication in promoting technical inovations in the wood industry and its products
VIII. technical inovations in tropical wood industry for ecological services trade
The Workshop will include:
- presentations and discutions held by experts in this domain, followed by related themes
- a showcast of inovations in the tropical wood industry and its products presented in „Expo AIRFORT 2008”, covering aspects like:
1. wood industry
2. tools and machines
3. house construction
4. communities based on wood industry and handicraft
5. financial partners/ bussines contracts
6. field trip
7. a visit to a sawmill featuring secondary and tertiary units for processing wood
8. a visit to a training camp for rural communities in socio-economical activities
participating at this workshop and contributing to its activities is free for all contries members of ITTO, but also to any other institutions and specialists in tropical wood industry. |
